Thank God For Elvis is a series of photographs I took in the 1990’s. At the time, I kept seeing pictures of Elvis everywhere I looked. From fairgrounds to airports on bill boards and on clothing even though it had been 20 years since his passing. I set myself the challenge of taking pictures with his image in or with the spirit of Elvis in the image. At the time I was working for the Daily Telegraph and would go down to the clippings room and research for anything to do with Elvis. Some of the clippings are quite unbelievable, giving the sense that he was a figure of fun and not the sublime, remarkable talent and cultural icon that he was.
