For the last 12 years Gavan has carved out a successful international
freelance photographic career specialising in reportage, portraiture
and commercial photography.
His clients include The Observer, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian,
Womens Journal, Country Life and the Independent. He has worked
for numerous corporate bodies such as Shell, BUPA, Lloyds of
London, ISMA, Texaco, as well as marketing and design groups.
He produces strong, creative images that fit the brief. Gavan’s exhibitions include: “A Year On” – a
study on the change of life following the Rumanian Revolution, “The
Forgotten People of Israel” where Gavan spent three months
living with the Bedouin in the Negev Desert, the Independent
Magazine sponsored “British Summer Time” – a
look at how people change after a holiday in Ibiza, and “The
London Marathon” – a 24hr chronicle of the event. Gavan is currently pursuing a long term personal study of the
Cornish landscape working in a 5x4 format.
